Brief Three

During this semester, you should begin to think about, and work towards, your Major Project for Level Three (see website for unit description). By the end of this semester, you are required to produce a first draft version of your Proposal Document, one side of A4 (also linked from your website) which should provide the following information:

-Abstract outlining the project
-The goal and purpose of the Project.
-An indication of the intended audience
-An indication of the critical and analytical framework and research sources for the project.

Presentations of this initial draft will take place on 19 April 2005, timetable to be confirmed. The draft document is to be submitted at the presentation, and verbal feedback regarding project suitability will be provided.

Over the summer vacation, you will then fully develop a final proposal for submission at the start of the next academic year.

Your final Project Proposal should provide the following information:

-The goal and purpose of the Project.
-An outline of the structure of the project
-An indication of the intended audience
-An indication of the proposed content of the project, including the functional requirements and -including design sketches, screen mock-ups and prototypes.
-An indication of the critical and analytical framework and research sources for the project.
-A realistic timetable for managing the Project

(detailed outline of structure to be provided at the year end)

Throughout the Project development cycle, all students will be required to keep a weekly Project Log.

This should include details of tasks that are proposed for the week ahead, and critical evaluations of any work completed in the previous week.
